Melinda Stephanie, Certified Massage Therapist

Melinda's foundation for bodywork reflects her approach to life; with focus on inner tranquility, joy and balance. Her sessions are nourishing, restorative and effective; anointing the body with warm botanical oils, rhythmic strokes and specific acupressure holds to encourage the flow of prana (life force). She assists in bringing one into a heightened state of awareness; utilizing breath and intention. This immersion into deep stillness allows the nervous system to observe any resistance (pain, tension, stress...) that is inhibiting the natural flow of wellness and to initiate a self-healing response. Limiting patterns of thought and habits that are crystallized in the body are allowed to soften, disarm and ultimately...be released.

Her background weaves Yoga and Ayurvedic principles into her bodywork. She integrates years of her own personal yoga practice, intensive training as a yoga instructor and education at the Ayurvedic Institute. Eastern medicine and philosophy blend with her training and work as a massage therapist in beautiful Maui, HI; creating a whole being approach to her therapy.

Modalities offered: Hawaiian Lomi lomi, Hot & Cold Stone Therapy, Swedish, Shiatsu, Pre & Post Natal, Chair Massage, Reflexology, Body Scrubs, Polarity and Pranic Balancing.

With 20 years of experience, I feel honored to share with you the great benefits of massage as a means of achieving more vibrant health and optimal well being and empowerment. Massage will help you explore the deep connection between your Body, Mind and Spirit. I am fascinated with the human body and have studied many different approaches to body work. I love to bring together the Western modalities such as Swedish, Deep Tissue, Sport Massage and Reflexology with the Eastern philosophy which follows the principle of the Chi (energy flow, life force) and pressure points connected to specific organs in the body. Shiatsu and Thai Massage follow these principles. I also apply Ortho-Bionomy which comes from Osteopathy and recognizes the body's self healing and self regulating ability. A constant flow of energy and a deep connection of your Body, Mind and Spirit will maintain a healthy and vibrant body. My work is in constant flow as I weave all those different modalities with the Sacred Hawaiian Lomi massage which reminds me so much of an ocean wave gently caressing and nurturing your Body, Mind and Spirit. It is so rewarding to help you discover this deep connection and help you engage in the body's natural responsiveness and healing awareness.
