Plan your next visit to Mount Shasta around one of many yearly events. Fireworks and family during the annual 4th of July Celebration, ShastaYama Taiko Festival featuring Taiko drumming under the stars and the Shasta Summit Century Bike Race in August, Cool Mountain Nights Classic Car Show 'n Shine in September, and the Mount Shasta International Film Festival in October.


July 4, 5, 6 & 7, 2007 — Annual Fourth of July Celebration
On July 4th join the crowd in either a five mile fun-run or the two mile walk at 8:30am. This unique fun-run features a variety of entertainment and food tastings offered by local restaurants along the two mile walk course. A traditional parade at noon (download parade application and rules/regulations), complete with a grand marshal will wind north on Mt. Shasta Blvd. At dusk fireworks will be over Lake Siskiyou. Festivities will continue on July 5th, 6th and 7th with booths and live music on Mt. Shasta Blvd. and Castle Street. A big celebration for a small town! August 4, 2007 — ShastaYama Music Festival
Shasta Taiko's 3rd annual ShastaYama Taiko Festival will take place in the spectacular outdoor venue of Shastice Park in Mt. Shasta. Shasta Taiko founders Russel Baba and Jeanne Mercer will be joined in concert by Taiko performers coming from all over the US. As performing art, Taiko combines powerful sound, hypnotic rhythm, intense energy, and graceful choreography. 2007 guest artist: Kenny Endo, American Taiko Master.

August 5, 2007 — Summit Century Bike Ride
Why not ride the prettiest, toughest century in California? The Super Century is like a "Tour de France" mountain stage. Cloverleaf route allows you to bail out if you're cooked, the finish is nearby. The event features four different rides, each distinct and with many challenges. September 1 & 2, 2007 — Cool Mountain Nights on Labor Day Weekend
Celebrate the end of summer; on Saturday enjoy a Classic Car Show 'n Shine and a downtown street fair. Sunday is the Tinman Triathlon at Lake Siskiyou in the morning, the annual Blackberry Music Festival in the afternoon at City Park. For additional information call 1-800-926-4865.

October 12, 13 & 14 — Mount Shasta International Film Festival
Films will be showing in three theaters at Mt. Shasta Cinema in the shopping center in Mount Shasta, and at the College of the Siskiyous in Weed. Friday night we will have the traditional free Gala Party. Festival organizers are inviting filmmakers to participate in audience Q&A's throughout the Festival and they will also participate in a filmmakers' symposium at COS. November 23, 2007 — Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Merchant Open House
Gather in front of city hall to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season. Join in as carols are sung by candlelight. Enchantingly the community Christmas tree, all the trees lining the streets downtown and the holiday decorations are lit at once. Santa drives by on a fire truck, he is on his way to his workshop located at the fire station. Santa and his elves will be building toys and baking.
